Dive the Media Luna and shop during the day.Travel by bus to the mountains and valleys of northern Mexico to dive and experience the environment and culture of one of Mexico 's most unique diving zones.

The Lagoon of La Media Luna is located in the center of Mexico, in the middle of the State of San Luis Potosi. Between mountains 3000 ft. above sea level in the valley of Rio Verde, near the Ejido el Jabali. La Media Luna is a warm water spring with a pleasant temperature that goes from 78F to 80 F and the maximum depth is 188.5 ft. Diving is a year round adventure at Media Luna.

La Media Luna has yielded incredible archeological finds such as a mammoth skull and bones in addition to arrow heads, pottery and statues. These items are available for viewing at the hotel's Museum of the Mammoth.

Media Luna from the air.As an added bonus on your trip, Professor Clint Davis, Fulbright Scholar and Professor of Anthropology and Geography at Austin Community College teams up with Tom's Dive and Swim and the Media Luna Dive Shop to provide a unique diving and cultural experience. Professor Davis's 30 years of experience with educational groups throughout Mexico and Central America together with the experience of two well established dive shops makes this trip an exciting, new adventure for divers and their families.

You will need to be in good shape for moderate hiking as we go up to waterfalls that are great for scuba diving, snorkeling, swimming and meditating. These beautiful falls will leave you wanting to come back the next year. Imagine the sounds of the forest, waterfalls and no cell phones.

The waterfalls at the end of the hike. Diving is allowed.Keep in mind this is a road trip by van to Mexico so there will be a need to make a border crossing to get there and to come back. Passports are now required for entrance to Mexico and again, entry back to the U.S.
