Mares Planet 88X Demo Day — Lake Travis

Hands-on regulator demo dives in real local diving conditions

This Demo Day is your chance to take learning into the water. Join Mares and Tom’s Dive & Swim at Lake Travis to dive the Mares Planet 88X regulator in small groups designed to evaluate comfort, breathing effort, and real-world performancewhere it actually matters.

Why Divers Are Excited About the Mares Planet 88X

The Mares Planet 88X represents the most significant shift in regulator design in decades. Built around Mares’ new Airmatic Technology, the Planet 88X replaces traditional mechanical springs in the second stage with a fully pneumatic valve system—fundamentally changing how breathing resistance is managed underwater.

The result is what Mares calls Natural Breathing 2.0: an exceptionally smooth, responsive breathing experience that remains consistent across depth, workload, and conditions. Divers often describe it as breathing without noticeable resistance, even when working harder or diving deeper.

  • Airmatic Technology — pneumatic valve design with no traditional springs
  • Extremely smooth, responsive airflow with minimal breathing resistance
  • Simplified internal design to reduce wear and improve long-term reliability
  • High-performance 88X first stage with environmental sealing for cold and demanding conditions

Specifications only tell part of the story. Demo Day gives you the opportunity to experience how the Planet 88X actually feels during a real dive—and decide for yourself how it compares to what you currently use.
