Easy, Relaxed Caribbean Diving From a Resort Built by Divers, for Divers.

Crystal-clear water, consistently good visibility, and one of the Caribbean’s most iconic wreck dives included in the package.

Seven nights at Sunset House including five days of two-tank boat diving, unlimited shore diving, free Nitrox, the USS Kittiwake afternoon wreck dive, dedicated Tom’s group boat, daily breakfast and lunch, airport transfers, and all taxes. Who this trip is for

Grand Cayman Works for a Wide Range of Divers.

First international trip

A great first dive destination abroad

Grand Cayman's diving is clear, calm, and well-organized. Sunset House handles everything on-site. It's one of the most comfortable ways to experience what Caribbean diving can be without surprises.

Wreck diver

The USS Kittiwake is in the package

The Kittiwake is one of the Caribbean's most dived wrecks — shallow, well-preserved, and accessible. This 1-tank afternoon dive is included. If you've earned your Wreck Diving certification, this is where it goes.

Nitrox diver

Free Nitrox for the whole week

Nitrox is included for all divers on this trip, not just certified divers. If you're not yet certified, get it done at Tom's before you go. Enriched Air Nitrox →

What to expect

Relaxed. Well-Organized. Built Around the Diving.

Sunset House's location south of Georgetown puts you away from the Seven Mile Beach resort corridor and close to the dive sites Sunset House is known for. The resort's on-site dive operation handles everything: equipment, tanks, briefings, and boat scheduling. Shore diving is available directly from the resort dock any time.

The Tom’s group boat runs five days of morning two-tank boat dives. Afternoons are yours — shore dive, explore George Town by bicycle, take the shuttle to Smith Cove Beach, or simply decompress. The included Kittiwake dive is typically scheduled as a dedicated afternoon outing.

Grand Cayman’s water clarity and conditions make it one of the most consistently good Caribbean destinations regardless of experience level. The infrastructure is well-developed, the diving is accessible, and the week is genuinely comfortable from start to finish.

Why travel with Tom’s

A Dedicated Tom’s Boat Changes How a Trip Feels.

Most Caribbean diving puts you on a shared charter with divers you don’t know. Tom’s trips to Grand Cayman run a dedicated group boat — the same Austin divers, every dive, for a week. That changes the experience in ways that are hard to describe until you have done it.

Dedicated boat

Your group, your boat, all week

No strangers. No coordinating with other groups. The Tom's group boat runs on your schedule, dives your sites, and surfaces when you are ready. That kind of autonomy is rare on a Caribbean trip.

Free Nitrox

Included for every diver on this trip

Nitrox is included for all Tom's divers on this trip. If you're not yet certified, Tom's offers the course in Austin before you go. Enriched Air Nitrox →

Austin Aquanauts

Part of a community that travels together

Tom's trips run through the Austin Aquanauts. Members get early access and benefits. Not a member? Trips are open to all, and most divers who travel with Tom's once find themselves joining the Aquanauts afterward.

In business since 1982

Tom’s has been planning trips for decades

The logistics are handled, the expectations are clear, and the trip is organized so you can focus on the diving. That trust is built over forty-plus years of doing this in Austin.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need Nitrox certification to use the free Nitrox on this trip?

Yes. The free Nitrox upgrade applies to certified Enriched Air Nitrox divers. Tom's offers the course in Austin — it's worth completing before the trip so you can use Nitrox for every dive. Enriched Air Nitrox →

What is the USS Kittiwake?

The USS Kittiwake is a decommissioned US Navy submarine rescue vessel intentionally sunk off Grand Cayman in 2011 as an artificial reef. It rests upright in shallow water with excellent visibility and is one of the most photographed wreck dives in the Caribbean. The Kittiwake dive is included as a dedicated 1-tank afternoon dive, weather permitting.

Is this trip suitable for newer divers?

Yes. Grand Cayman's diving is among the most accessible in the Caribbean — calm, clear, and well-organized. Open Water certification is required, but this is a comfortable first international dive destination for recently certified divers.

What is the flight gateway?

Grand Cayman's airport code is GCM (Owen Roberts International). Several US carriers serve it directly, including flights connecting through Miami, Houston, and other hubs. Airfare is not included in the package.

Is dive and travel insurance required?

Dive accident insurance and trip cancellation insurance are strongly recommended. Neither is included in the package. Tom's recommends obtaining both before booking.
