Rent-to-Own Program (RTO)

Own your gear. Build your system. Dive with confidence.

Our Rent-to-Own program is designed to help you build a complete, reliable set of scuba equipment paid out over time — without financing complexity or added interest.

Simple structure: A straightforward, no-interest path to owning your Total Dive System.

Program Overview

The TDS Rent-to-Own (RTO) program is operated as a layaway-style system with structured payments and controlled access to equipment.

  • A minimum 30% down payment is required
  • The remaining balance is paid out over 12 months
  • No interest is charged at any time

This program is designed to make high-quality gear accessible while maintaining a disciplined ownership pathway.

Equipment & Ownership Structure

Storage & Possession

  • TDS maintains possession of RTO equipment during the 12-month term
  • Equipment is stored by the shop between uses
  • Customers take possession only when renting the equipment out

Customer Responsibility

  • Customers are responsible for cleaning equipment before returning it to storage
  • Customers are to provide a bag for storage

Usage & Rental Policy

  • Each customer is allowed one (1) no-charge rental per month
  • Additional rentals are charged at current shop rental rates
  • All additional rental fees are applied, in full, directly toward the remaining RTO balance

Important: Additional usage accelerates ownership by reducing the remaining balance faster.

Equipment Selection Guidelines

  • RTO is intended for complete gear systems (full setup)
  • Individual or partial equipment RTO requests require manager approval

Building a full system ensures proper fit, compatibility, and a better overall diving experience.

Why Rent-to-Own?

  • Build a complete gear setup without large upfront cost
  • Dive consistently with familiar equipment
  • Reinforce good habits through repeated use
  • No interest, no hidden complexity

Bottom Line: Rent-to-Own helps you become a more confident, capable diver — one dive at a time… and in your own gear!
