A great trip whatever your logbook looks like
Grand Cayman's calm, clear water and easy shore access make it one of the best places to build confidence, while its walls and wrecks keep experienced divers busy. Our team helps everyone get comfortable and dive at their own pace.
Unlimited diving on your own schedule
Shore diving is available 24/7 right from the property. Dive before breakfast, dive after dinner, and log as many dives as your surface intervals allow, without waiting on a boat.
Kittiwake, walls, and an underwater icon
The USS Kittiwake wreck, the island's dramatic wall diving, and the famous underwater sculptures give Grand Cayman a set of signature sites that experienced divers travel a long way to reach.
Walls, Wrecks, and 24/7 Shore Diving.
Grand Cayman is known for three things underwater: sheer walls that begin in shallow water and drop thousands of feet, the wreck of the USS Kittiwake, and consistently calm, clear conditions. Boat diving covers five days of two-tank trips, and unlimited shore diving from the property means your dive count is limited only by your imagination.
Sunset House sits on the ironshore just south of George Town, a resort built by divers for divers, with its own dock and house reef. The reservation includes breakfast and lunch daily, free use of bicycles, and a daily shuttle to George Town and Smith Cove Beach, so surface intervals are as easy as the diving. Round-trip airport transfers and all hotel taxes and service charges are handled for you.
The Kittiwake Wreck and a Mermaid on the House Reef.
The USS Kittiwake, a retired submarine rescue vessel, was sunk off Seven Mile Beach as an artificial reef. It sits in clear, shallow water, open for divers to explore inside and out, and has become one of the signature wreck dives of the Caribbean.

Right off Sunset House's own house reef stands the Amphitrite mermaid statue, joined by the Guardian of the Reef sculpture nearby. Between the wrecks, the sculptures, and the island's wall diving, Grand Cayman packs an unusual number of world-famous sites into one easy-to-reach week.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Grand Cayman is one of the most beginner-friendly world-class destinations in the Caribbean: calm, clear water and easy 24/7 shore diving make it an excellent place to build confidence, while the walls and wrecks give experienced divers plenty to explore. Open Water certification is required.
Grand Cayman's airport is Owen Roberts International (GCM). Many US routes connect through Miami, and there are seasonal direct flights from several US cities. Airfare in and out of GCM is not included. Round-trip airport transfers are included in the package.
Unlimited shore diving is available 24/7 directly from the property. You can dive on your own schedule around the boat-diving days, which makes Grand Cayman one of the best places to maximize your dives for the week.
Airfare in and out of GCM, unspecified meals and beverages, personal dive equipment, tips to the dive crew, trip insurance, and dive accident insurance are not included in the package.
Dive accident insurance and trip cancellation insurance are strongly recommended for all Tom's trips, and especially for international travel. Neither is included in the package price. Typical travel insurance policies include protection from unforeseen medical or weather events.
Perfect Buoyancy and Nitrox are the most useful before Grand Cayman. Strong buoyancy helps on the walls and around the Kittiwake, and Nitrox extends your bottom time across repetitive dives. Perfect Buoyancy →
