Who this event is for

Perfect for a Weeknight, and for Divers at Any Stage.

Newer divers

A low-pressure way to build comfort

Mansfield Dam is a familiar, well-known site to the club, which makes it a good place to dive regularly and get more comfortable in open water.

Busy divers

Diving that fits around a work schedule

A couple of hours on a weeknight is a much smaller ask than a weekend trip. It’s the easiest way to keep diving regularly between bigger trips.

Anyone new to the club

The lowest-commitment way to meet other Tom's divers

Free to attend, close to town, and a good way to meet other local divers before committing to a bigger day trip or joining the club.

What to expect

A Familiar Site, an Evening Dive, and a Casual Group.

Mansfield Dam Park sits on Lake Travis and is the club’s standard local dive site. Since Bubble Hour runs in the evening, expect low light and bring a dive light. It’s an easy, social evening rather than a structured training dive: divers pair up informally and dive at their own pace, with the group typically gathering afterward for a bit before heading home.

A completed Smart Waiver is required to participate; complete it ahead of time if possible so you’re not doing paperwork at the water’s edge.

Why dive with the Aquanauts

The Dive That’s Actually Easy to Say Yes To.

Bubble Hour is the event that keeps the Tom's Dive Team community connected week to week, not just on the occasional big trip. Tom’s and the team have been building that kind of regular, local diving culture since 2013.

Free to attend

No membership fee to show up

Park entry is the only cost. It’s an easy first event to try before deciding whether the club is for you.

Close to home

No day trip required

Mansfield Dam is right on Lake Travis, minutes from central Austin. Easy to fit in after work.

Consistent, not occasional

Runs roughly every other week

Regular diving beats occasional diving for skill and comfort in the water. Bubble Hour makes that realistic.

Backed by Tom’s

Since 1982

The Austin Aquanauts operate out of Tom’s Dive & Swim, so gear, rentals, and questions all have a home nearby.
