Who this event is for

Every Diver Who Wants a Genuinely Fun Night.

Any certified diver

No special skill required, just a sense of humor

This isn’t a technical dive. It’s a social night in the water with an odd, memorable theme.

Aquanauts regulars

The club’s unofficial reunion night

If you’ve made it to a few Bubble Hours or a day trip this year, this is where everyone shows up.

Newcomers looking for a fun first event

A memorable way to meet the club

Odd, welcoming, and genuinely one of the more fun ways to be introduced to Austin’s dive community.

What to expect

An Evening Dive With a Very Specific Objective.

The event runs late afternoon into the evening at Mansfield Dam Park, so bring a dive light. Each contestant brings their own pumpkin and carves it underwater using a blunt-tipped knife (required for safety, no exceptions). Judging happens after everyone surfaces, with prizes for Best, Spookiest, and the good-natured “Oh, Good Try” category for the entries that, well, tried. Drinks and snacks are provided, and the evening tends to run long since nobody’s in a hurry to leave.

A completed liability waiver is required to participate, and the no-refund window (4 days before the event) is enforced, so register with enough lead time.

Why dive with the Aquanauts

The Night That Sums Up Why People Stick Around.

This is the event longtime Aquanauts talk about most. Tom’s and the club have been building this kind of community, dive skill plus genuine fun, since 2013.

Open to everyone

No membership required to compete

Members pay a lower price, but any certified diver can enter the contest.

A real tradition

The club’s season finale, every year

Closes out the dive calendar on the highest note the club has.

Low stakes, high fun

Nobody actually cares who wins

The prizes are fun, but the point is the night itself.

Backed by Tom’s

Since 1982

The Austin Aquanauts operate out of Tom’s Dive & Swim, so gear and questions have somewhere to go.
