Most divers watch this parade of fish on every single dive without ever attaching a name to any of it. There is a real skill to recognizing what you are seeing by shape, markings, and behavior, and it is learnable.
SSI Fish Identification teaches you to recognize common fish families of the Caribbean, Indo-Pacific, and Red Sea by body shape, mouth position, tail shape, and behavior. Self-paced academics, with an optional open water application dive. $150. Open to everyone, certified diver or not. Minimum age 10.
